A SAD RETURN...RIP MACHO MAN

I'm sorry for the delay but....IM BACK!!

Many things have happened in the last month, I make no apologies for my absence but I will try to explain it. Most times I would be happy if these things all happened in 6 months let alone a 30 days span:

1) My wife was finally able to join me in Canada

2) A TSN work trip to the X Games Asia in Shanghai where I was able to interview Bob Burnquist, Andy MacDonald, Dennis McCoy, Pierre-Luc Gagnon, Chad Kagy and many more.

3) Have secured and moved into a new house in Toronto

4) Began Editing on my X Games Top 10 Show

5) And in final preparations for a TSN work trip to Southern California where I will be interviewing Tony Hawk, Danny Way, and hopefully Shawn White.

So an interesting month it was too say the least and I haven't even mentioned that my beloved Vancouver Canucks are 1 win away from the Stanley Cup Final, which means you won't hear much from me until they have won the elusive trophy.

A busy man I am, but not too busy to mourn the passing of a legend we will all miss. I have worked in sports newsroom for the past 4 years and there is seldom any news that would make an entire newsroom stop and drop what they are doing, especially in hockey mad Canada, but this past Friday that exact scenario came to fruition:

2pm Friday, May 20th and a simple email comes through the news wires from TMZ.com of all places..."Randy Macho Man Savage dies in Car Crash". And with that a collective gasp was let out, followed by a reassurance that everyone else just read the same thing you did, and then the third step....a collective "ohhhhhhh Yeahhhhhhhh". So to Randy Poffo, nothing I could write would ever do you justice, although I'm sure my friend (and former St. Louis radio personality) Dan Duffy and his dead on impression of you would...here is a classic clip of the Macho Man at his colouful best on the Arsenio Hall show.

RIP Macho Man Randy Savage aka Randy Poffo....you brought hours of entertainment (and the flying elbow drop) to millions of kids worldwide.
